Part 4Are you confused? Back up a step and read our first blog in this series "To Float Or Not To Float".CLEAR FLOAT SPA Location: Mission, Calgary Website: http://clearfloat.ca Hours: 7am - 11pm Daily Parking: Free Validated Parking in Parkade From 6:30am - 11:30pm & Free on Street Parking After 6pm Cost: $59 + GST (60 Mins), Multiple Packages & Memberships Available ![]() Clear Float Spa's lobby is modern and inviting. The decor is well thought out and simple. A diffuser is often on and boasting a tranquil oil. The lobby area is well lit, and the dimmed lighting throughout the rest of the spa is sure to help your stress ebb away! The spa is very clean and well maintained. Off the lobby down the corridor, past the float suites, you'll find a washroom, post float make up area and separate relaxation lounge. The make up area is equipped with a large counter and hair dryers. Clear Float Spa currently has 3 private float rooms, and the space to expand in the future. Each suite is the perfect temperature/humidity and comes equipped with a private shower, with premium shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (from the Rocky Mountain Soap Company). You'll also find a towel and washcloth, Q-Tips, vaseline (for those pesky little cuts and scrapes), disposable make up wipes, a little mirror, silicone ear plugs, and eye drops in case you get salt water in your eyes. There are hooks for your clothes and a chair to pop your belongings onto. There is also an inflatable head cushion for use in the pod. Each pod is lit by relaxing blue light, that I've come to associate with Clear Float Spa. (As a fellow business owner I say bravo, as the signature blue colour is on point for branding)! Before your float begins you'll be invited to pick out a complimentary tea choice for post float. These gourmet teas are supplied by The Tea Factory. (Try the blueberry tea as it's delicious). If your float at Clear Float Spa is your first ever, you will receive thorough instructions on how to operate your float pod before you begin. Your float time begins 5 minutes after you enter your suite, to allow time for a pre-float shower. You'll know your time is beginning when the the intro plays in the pod. Like all pods you can turn the light on and off, and the music on or off. You'll know your time is up when the lights come back on in the pod. After your post float shower you'll find your hot tea waiting for you, along with a personalized note. Be sure to spend some time exploring the relaxation lounge, where you can add a note to the walls using one of the erasable markers, browse through the book collection, or just sip your tea in silence from the comfort of a bean bag chair.
Being that Clear Float Spa only offers floats in 60 minute increments, I was initially kind of bummed. I had come to expect longer 90 minute sessions! After several 60 minute floats at Clear Float Spa I was able to relax and reach the desired theta state completely within the allotted time. If you are a newer floater you may find it takes you more then three sessions to find your groove within 60 minutes. Don't get discouraged, just go more often. If you are an advanced floater you might want to try out a 150 minute float, only available at Clear Float Spa. I'm very impressed with Clear Float Spa. I would certainly recommend it to our Doula clients, friends and family!! ~ Doula In The Wild Be sure to check out our entire series on Calgary's float scene...
